Look up the location of any IP address
Country, city, time zone, ASN and ISP from several open databases
What IP info shows
One lookup returns everything open databases know about an address.
Location on the map
Country, region, city, postal code and coordinates, with the time zone and the current local time of the address.
Network owner
ASN, ISP or organization and the IP range the address belongs to, with the registry and the allocation date.
Sources side by side
Every database is shown separately with its update date, so you can see where they agree and where they differ.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about how the check works and how to read its results.
How accurate is IP geolocation?
The country is almost always right, but the city can be off by tens of kilometres. For mobile networks, VPNs and large providers the location often points to the operator or a data centre rather than to the user. That is why check-host.su shows several databases side by side.
Can I look up a domain name?
Yes. Enter a domain and check-host.su resolves its A and AAAA records, lists every address it points to and shows the location of the first IPv4 address. Click any other address to look it up.
What is an ASN?
An autonomous system number identifies a network that announces IP addresses on the internet — usually an ISP, a hosting provider or a large company. It shows who actually operates the network behind an address.
Why is there no location for 192.168.0.1?
Addresses like 192.168.0.1, 10.0.0.1 or 127.0.0.1 belong to private and reserved ranges that are only used inside local networks. They are not routed on the internet, so geolocation databases have no data for them.
Does it show if an IP is a Tor exit node?
Yes. Addresses from the Tor Project's list of exit nodes are marked with a badge.
